Outline/Contour Tex...

We had a major storm through here recently and we suffered damage to the house roof and ceilings. I just received the quote to repair. I’m hoping that a small fraction of the 80,000 odd people that download SDIO and/or Desktop Info every month won’t mind chipping in a few dollars to help out. Hi all,

is there a way to outline/contour/frame text (and all other items)?
We use white text color, but a few users change their backgrounds to white filled images and are unable to see the desktopinfo information.
And additionally our marketing want to provide a set of background images to our several users, the function for outlining would be great.

Thanks in advance.

best regards,

Nicolas

You can set up a background colour that will make DTI visible regardless of the background.

[options]

transparency=50

formcolor=#000050

where transparency is percent from 0 to 100 (default=100)

formcolor is rgb color. above example will give a blue background.

Hi Glenn,

I have tested it with different font-quality options (and other background colors), but the font is unreadable. See attached screenshot.
Did you have a tip for me?

ini file (I know, CONTROL item is deprecated/not functionally in this config. Currently I test a new way for it.)

[options]
bottom=120
right=0
width=340
column1width=-1
centerv=0
centerh=0
fontface=Arial
font-size=12
#cleartype=0
ssfontsize=12
formcolor=000000
transparency=99
contextmenu=0
allowdrag=0
offset=1
nav=0
language=english.ini
inimonitortime=10

[items]
HOST=active:1,interval:0,style:b,text:Hostname:,display:%1
NETWORKINTERFACES=active:1,interval:30,operstatus:1,iftype:6 71,text:IP Address:,display:%8,style:b
COMMENT=text: ,hidden:0
CONTROL=type:1,width:142,hover-color:#E4010C,text:IT Ticketsystem:    ,display:XXXXXX/support,uri: https://XXXXXXX/servicedesk/,style:b
TEXT=active:1,interval:60,text:IT Hotline:,display:+49 (0) XXXXXXX,style:b

Yes, but I had hope that the transparency would be have a bigger effect on this.
Now I have tested with a other color and transparency value, I think it is okay for me (or better say: for our marketing, lol), thank you!
