We had a major storm through here recently and we suffered damage to the house roof and ceilings. I just received the quote to repair. I’m hoping that a small fraction of the 80,000 odd people that download SDIO and/or Desktop Info every month won’t mind chipping in a few dollars to help out. Click on the big blue button at the bottom of the page to help us keep a roof over our heads, literally!

Hi,

I can't get SDIO to download anything, even the index. I keep having 0 peer.

I tried to turn off my VPN and to reset the firewall parameters but still no luck.

Is there anything else I have to check? Please see logs attached.

Thank you very much

ERROR: failed to open listen socket: An attempt was made to access a socket in a manner prohibited by its access permissions.

I'm not sure why you're getting this error. Basically you don't have permission to do this on your computer. Try changing the torrent port in the options.   Is it a company computer? Are you in a corporate environment?  I recommend trying on a different computer in a different environment.

Strange because it's my personnal computer. I'll try to change port in config.

EDIT : ok it works with port randomly set at 62000. Don't know why... !

I want to comment that I had the same issue trying to launch SDIO on my own PC. It was unclear in the UI what was going on, but eventually I found this post which gave a better hint. I ended up deleting the port specified in the configuration file and SDIO seemed to pick a better port which has things working now. Hopefully the startup experience can be improved in a few ways, one being that it automatically picks a good port to operate on, maybe display errors in the UI somewhere, and an ability to change options from the UI directly would be nice too. Thank you for this app though, it has been very helpful!

All good ideas. I'll see what I can do.  Meanwhile, the Options is hidden behind the Expert Mode checkbox.
