We had a major storm through here recently and we suffered damage to the house roof and ceilings. I just received the quote to repair. I’m hoping that a small fraction of the 80,000 odd people that download SDIO and/or Desktop Info every month won’t mind chipping in a few dollars to help out. Click on the big blue button at the bottom of the page to help us keep a roof over our heads, literally!

Version 3.19.1
April 2025
Change 1: PROXY will return no result if it doesn’t find the registry entry.
Change 2: HTTPGET, IMAGE and DTI will log a WARNing if the url times out.
Change 3: Fixed a bug in the SharedData procedure.
Change 4: Fixed a bug in the chart options parser.
Change 5: Added the filter option to NETWORKPERF.
Change 6: Updated description of the sub string formatting option. It uses two colons and no commas.
Having a quirk with this version (and 3.18.1 also) where when swapping between home and office with my laptop, DTI doesn't move to the primary monitor and refresh properly until I go into Task Manager and select "Switch To". It's not crashed, it's just not moving displays and refreshing properly.
My setup is a Dell laptop into a Dell USB-C thunderbolt dock with 1 or 2 secondary monitors.
Scenario 1: Your external monitor is set to be the primary monitor. When disconnected, Windows reverts the primary monitor to the laptop. So DTI actually has nothing to do, it will continue to display on the primary monitor.
Scenario 2: You set DTI to display on the secondary monitor via the monitor-num option. When disconnected, DTI gets the message the secondary monitor is no longer connected and reverts to the primary monitor. In my case this was only partially successful. When disconnecting, DTI reverted to the primary monitor, but when reconnecting, it did not move back to the secondary monitor, I needed to do a manual reload.
In both cases DTI is merely catching up with the current monitor settings during it's regular display refresh cycle but in the second case DTI does not become aware of the display change when reconnecting. I believe this is related to Windows not sending appropriate notifications or DTI is not receiving them correctly.
You can use the display-change option to do a reload when the display configuration changes.
Having said all that, I found the place where DTI is losing the desired monitor so that will be in the next release. Hopefully that will also fix @marts4 problem as well.
@glenn Thanks Glenn, sounds promising! 😀
Any luck with the error causing DTI to show on the taskbar btw? - although that's one for the other threat really.
