ParticipantHi there, I´m not sure if someone noticed the size problem on version 3.0:
When started on a PC with large pixel resolution (larger than 1920×1200), the width seems to be in half.
Refer to attached screenshot from an Surface 4 device.
That doesnt change when altering the Zoom level. Is there any other user who noticed the same behavior?
best regards

ParticipantSorry, I tried to attach the *.ini file and got an >>Upload Errors: desktopinfo3.ini: Sorry, this file type is not permitted for security reasons.<<
Another attempt to just put the ini in the reply field failed too, please advise how to transmit the file -

Keymasternothing comes to mind except perhaps the font scaling? add “.txt” to the extension.

KeymasterThe problem is scaling. The Surface Pro has a higher than normal DPI which has the effect of setting the scaling up on a PC. I’ll see if I can add some dpi aware code to get the scaling right.
Edit: Well I’ve learnt a bit about how the scaling works. It turns out the fonts were being scaled automatically but the form wasn’t, so we end up with half a display. I’ve added some code to scale up the form size as appropriate.
Here’s a before and after shot.

ParticipantI had not noticed it until your post and I think it may only be the released version of di. I will have to compare. All 3.x versions open up and are not where I am telling them to be. Once I switch to a different page it shows up normal and in the corner where I want it. I have attached my ini as well for ref.
2.11.0 clearly does not like something in my ini for 3.0 but initial load is in the expected spot.
resolution is 1920×1080 (recommended for the display I am using)
scale is 100%Pics are from WIN11 Dev but also compared to my other win 10 machines and all have the same results.

KeymasterWell I can see dpi/scaling is also an issue for you so the next release should help. I still haven’t seen the odd position when it first starts.

ParticipantAny ETA on the updated version for DPI? Today is the first day I am using the laptop without a external monitor and its not displaying correctly. Also every time I click a nav button it stretches across the screen until such a time I have to kill it in taskmgr to restart it.
resolution is set to 3000×2000 (recommended) and dpi is at 200% (recommended).Luckily we do not yet have many Microsoft based units but that number will be growing.

KeymasterDid you look at the Scale option.
Change 13: Added automatic scaling for high dpi devices and Windows scaling. Added the scale option to [options] to
enable or disable automatic scaling. It is on by default.I’ll have to look into the issue with the nav button.

ParticipantI did and I cannot believe that slipped my mind as I recall you originally mentioning that I was like yes, that sound like something to look at. But now with that enabled it is not loading 100%. 🙁

KeymasterI found a couple of spots I missed. I’m going to make Scale=0 be the default.

ParticipantFirstly, thank you for making the 64-bit version. I can now include it within WindowsPE during OS Deployment! I cannot thank you enough because BGInfo can be difficult.
I have a lengthy background as a desktop engineer, if you want me to contribute by making an installer, or anything like that, I will gladly do so. Just let me know.
I am still seeing this issue for some reason. Are there any correction steps?
On a high resolution device, either the form is super zoomed with scaling turned on. If scaling is turned off, it sizes correctly, but is cut off by half for some reason.
I tried setting the width to a static value, but I would ideally like it to just work out the width dynamically because the information on a given device will have varying lengths.
This only happens on 3.X and above. The 2.X version(s) did not show this issue.
I thank you in advance for any attention you can show to this issue.
