      Hi,

      is there a way to have an indicator for pending windows updates (Win10)?

      I’d like to have an indicator (bar, count, whatever) shown on Desktop Info area if there are pending windows updates for the current PC.

      Unfortunately running a Powershell command or script (for now) is not an option, but WMI query, *.exe or calling SCCM is.

      I’m only aware of powershell at the moment (scripts\get-windows-updates.ps1) and that appears to be not working for me.

        Hi GLenn,

        Where can I find this script that you have?

        Thanks.

      I found a Powershell script which seems to do the job for me (we are using SCCM).
      Will need to see if I can converti it to another scripting language….

      For reference in case soeone has a similar need.
      https://github.com/bcwilhite/PendingReboot/blob/master/source/Public/Test-PendingReboot.ps1

      I modified the script by adding
      # Test-PendingReboot
      if ((Test-PendingReboot).IsRebootPending) {
      Write-Host “Reboot Pending”
      } else {
      Write-Host “ok”
      }

      saved at /scripts/reboot.ps1

      added to desktopinfo.ini
      CMD=text:Updates,font-size:140%,interval:600,code-page:65001,file:powershell.exe,parameters:-ExecutionPolicy Bypass -file scripts\reboot.ps1,display:%4
