        I now have a mix of 1.7, 1.91, and 1.92 in use.

        In order to keep track of them I thought I would drop in this cute little line I found in the readme.txt file:

        FILE=active:1,interval:30,type:version,file:C:\desktopinfo\desktopinfo.exe

        Sadly, it doesn’t work in .91 or .92 🙁

        Just shows: “File” “C:\desktopinfo\desktopinfo.exe”

          add “display:%2”

            I think I am still missing something in the available options for FILE.

            I can see in the readme, any reference to %2 on display. Also, is it possible to have our own text in the left column when showing a version?

            This line:
            FILE=active:1,interval:30,type:version,display:%2,file:C:\desktopinfo\desktopinfo.exe

            Shows:
            File 1.9.2.1252

            I would like it to show:
            Version 1.9.2.1252

            where “Version”, is my choice of text.

            Thoughts?

              you can always use the ‘text’ option to override the title on the left. i tested this on 1.9.2.

              FILE=active:1,interval:30,type:version,text:Desktop Info,display:Version %2,file:desktopinfo.exe

              the readme file has been lacking in many respects. i’ve spent quite a bit of time in the last couple of weeks building a whole new manual.
