CMD output

Could using the set option in the CMD store the command output in the variable?
This could improve this and many other solutions I think?

Like for example running scripts with the CMD to get the data you want and directly store it in the variable…

That would be nice. At the moment the command output is not captured which is why we have to jump through some hoops to get it on the screen. Once I figure out how to do that, the output will appear as a normal return value, say %4 or something. From there all the usual rules apply.
