      Hello,

      The line where the name appears blinks continuously, which becomes quite annoying.

      The line in the configuration is as follows:

      COMMENT=color:%white%,style:w,font-face:Comic Sans MS,font-size:140%,text:Desktop Info

      – Windows 7 x64 Enterprise
      – DTI 2.3.1.3085

      Kind Regards.

      a few things to try:
      a different font
      move dti to a different place on the screen

      do any other pages on the advanced ini blink?

      Hello Glenn,

      I tried another font and the same thing happened.

      Doing several tests I have discovered that only the first line fails, I have solved it by adding the following first:

      COMMENT=text:,font-size:50%

        Ok. Most curious. I haven’t seen that so I don’t really have a way to resolve it. Good you found a workaround though.

      Hi both,
      i am facing the same issue.
      All displayed lines are blinking in alternating timeframes.
      Tried already the hint from Eduardo without any luck:COMMENT=text:,font-size:50%

      I tried to reduce the lines already for troubleshooting but even if i only display the hostname it is blinking all ~15-30sek

      Maybe any other ideas?
      Thank you

        I’m guessing it might be related to Windows device messages. DTI responds to a number of Windows messages including:

        WM_DEVICECHANGE -> DBT_CONFIGCHANGED
        WM_SETTINGCHANGE
        WM_DISPLAYCHANGE

        All of these trigger an ini file reload and you would see the display flicker.

        I don’t see this on any of my test machines so I’ll need you to run a special debug build to test my theory. Let me know if you want to do that.

        And anyone else for that matter.

        I found a thing in the text display routines that could cause blinking in some circumstances.

      Hi Glenn,

      I have tested the new version on different clients and different OS
      The blinking affect is now better but still visible on all lines from time to time.

      Thank you

      I’ve tested in dozens of situations including every version of Windows from 2000 through to 1909, server editions, on physical machines and virtual machines, on local and remote access. I’ve discovered a few cases where I can see the blinking.

      So I started making a few changes and two weeks later have completely rewritten the display routines and ended up with something that totally eliminates the blinking, flickering etc.

      Now I can get back to the normal scheduled programming. Look for a release next week.
