We had a major storm through here recently and we suffered damage to the house roof and ceilings. I just received the quote to repair. I’m hoping that a small fraction of the 80,000 odd people that download SDIO and/or Desktop Info every month won’t mind chipping in a few dollars to help out. Today, I downloaded all 65 of the driver packs according to your torrent file.

In the SDIO drivers folder, however, there were 88 packs.

So, I ran del_old_driverpacks and that brought me down to 67.

Problem 1:  I did a lot of comparing, and found that there were two older packs:

DP_zWindows11_24030

DP_Videos_AMD-One_25011

Were these two purposely excluded from today’s download of the 65?

Are they worth keeping, or are they worthless.

Problem 2:  Going back to the 65 packs downloaded today, I compared the results to my previous pack collection.

Out of the total of 88 packs in my folder today, and after running del_old_driverpacks, I wondered what the 21 old packs that were deleted were.

Again, more comparing, I found that the 21 deleted by your bat file had a date of 25000 which were downloaded today, and the matching 21 had a date of 25011 .  Otherwise, they were identical in size.

So, which is correct?   Today’s 21 with a date of 25000, or the older ones with a date of 25011 (which were kept by your bat file).

Problem 3:  On one of my computers, I have integrated Intel graphics.  However, SDIO showed two entries for updating the NVM Express Controller with an NVIDIA RTX 5050.  This cannot be correct, as it is simply wrong and I have no NVIDA (integrated or discrete) on this computer

See attached picture.

The text for the Hardware ID is PCI\VEN_15B7&DEV_5041&SUBSYS_504115B7&REV_01

Why is this being suggested to install?

Problem 4:  There is a problem with two Intel Serial I/O drivers A161 and A162.  They hang SDIO and any other activity on the screen, requiring a reboot.  After running SDIO again, they no longer appeared, and I failed to capture the necessary information.  But, SDIO should not be  hanging such as to require a reboot.

All of this adds to the confusion with today’s driver packs and R817.

Please address the problems as Problem 1, Problem 2, Problem 3, and Problem 4.

These are redundant.

I compared 817 with 816 and 815 and found that all files in 817 marked 25000 also appeared in 816 and 815.

I don't know why that driver was suggested but it's a good thing you were paying attention.

Agreed.

@glenn Regarding Problem 2, which 21 would you keep?  The ones from yesterday with the 25000 date, or the ones from February with the 25011 date?  Any idea why the ones from yesterday were renamed?

The most recent ones.
