We had a major storm through here recently and we suffered damage to the house roof and ceilings. I just received the quote to repair. I’m hoping that a small fraction of the 80,000 odd people that download SDIO and/or Desktop Info every month won’t mind chipping in a few dollars to help out. Hello,

After updating the Intel driver in question (all details as per the attached screenshot) my Windows 11 laptop becomes unbootable. The driver installs "successfully", but after restart, Windows 11 remains stuck at the booting screen. I've had to reinstall Windows because I didn't use a restore point the first time, the second time though I reverted to the previously bootable state using System Restore and managed to identify the problematic driver.

My laptop is the MSI Sword 17 HX B14VGKG (MS-17T2 as specified by SDIO; by the way, it detects the system as Windows 10 instead of Windows 11).

Maybe this is of any help for improving the driver detection algorithm.

Best regards,
Valentin Dragomir

I don't think this problem is specific to SDIO. I have 2 Intel NUC machines that got an updated driver from Windows update that has them in a boot loop, when they actually boot... I haven't tried lately to restore them and update to see if a working update is available, but I'd guess that the issues are related.
