We had a major storm through here recently and we suffered damage to the house roof and ceilings. I just received the quote to repair. I’m hoping that a small fraction of the 80,000 odd people that download SDIO and/or Desktop Info every month won’t mind chipping in a few dollars to help out. Click on the big blue button at the bottom of the page to help us keep a roof over our heads, literally!

Hello:
Below is what I have in trying to place an image on my desktop, but it does not work. What do I need to do to make the image appear only on my desktop when logged on to the domain?
IMAGE=active:1,file:five.png,align:1,global:1,offset:200
Thank you for your help!
You will most likely need to use a variable for the domain and then eval it with IF:
IF=value1:%DOMAIN%,comp:eq,value2:EnterpriseS
IMAGE=active:1,file:five.png,align:1,global:1,offset:200
Here is how I display windows 11:
IF=value1:%OSBuild%,comp:ge,value2:22000
SET MyProductName=Windows 11 %osedition%
OSBUILD2=color:%orange%,text:Operating System,display:%MYProductName% (%18)
Hope that helps.
Hello and thank you for your quick response!
I typed:
IF=value1:%DOMAIN%,comp:eq,value2:EnterpriseS
IMAGE=active:1,file:five.png,align:1,global:1,offset:200
as suggested replacing %DOMAIN% with ours. It didn't work. We're using Desktopinfo v1.5. Would that be the issue? I placed this under [items]
Thank you! 🙂
Most likely that is your issue.
I would suggest upgrading to at least 3.10
Also I just re-read what you said you did, you would need to leave %DOMAIN% as is (that is the desktop info variable) and change EnterpriseS to your domain name like contoso.com
AKA
IF=value1:%DOMAIN%,comp:eq,value2:contoso.com
Hello:
Upgrading to the newer version helped. Thanks for the info. One more question if you don't mind. What do I type in the config file to make everything smaller proportionally? Everything looks really large.
getting a 'proper size' can be tricky as different display resolutions greatly affect the tool. Here is what I am doing to address that

then i use the variables later in the file to adjust button and font sizes as needed.
